Cairo Layover Tour Itinerary

Cairo tour from airport to Pyramids, Museum, and Khan El Khalili

After your arrival at Cairo airport, you will be welcomed by our tour guide. The first stop of your Cairo layover tour will be at the Giza necropolis to see the pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinos, which are considered to be the oldest and most famous buildings of mankind.

They were erected around 2620 to 2500 B.C., in the 4th dynasty, on the western edge of the Nile valley, and are the only remaining of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The great buildings are protected by the Great Sphinx of Giza. This is by far the most famous and largest sphinx and consists of a lying lion body with a mesh head. The Sphinx was also built in the 4th Dynasty.

After lunch, which is included in the price, the trip goes to the Egyptian Museum of Cairo, the world’s largest museum of ancient Egyptian art from different eras. It is located in downtown of Cairo City, on Tahrir Square, and was built in 1900 in the neoclassical style.

The day is concluded with a walk through the lively Khan El Khalili bazaar. This is located west of the Saiyidina-el-Husain Mosque and was founded in the 14th century on a former Mamluk cemetery as a trading post.

At the end of your Cairo layover tour, you will be transferred to Cairo International Airport.
